Fishing in the Amazon jungle of Ecuador "Being a fisherman is a way of life, it's not for everyone, but if you chose it you better do it right and know everything there is to know about it" -Osvaldo, 64.

Fishing in the Amazon jungle of Ecuador

Enoc's mother is turning 40 the next morning, so he goes out fishing at night to catch some bocachicos, his mom's favorite fish, to surprise her at breakfast. He says the best way to catch bocachicos is with a fishnet (atarraya) at night because they can't see you coming, during a rainstorm because they can't hear you and when the river is low because that way it's easier to spot them.
