My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a student, a traveler, a lover, a light and an optimist, who is passionate, courageous, kindhearted, sometimes silly, a character, and always in-love with life. I have had incredible travel experiences from my own backyard in Grand Coulee, Washington to some of the greatest historical sites on earth i.e. Petra, Dome of the Rock, the separation wall in the West Bank, the slave castles of Ghana, the rain forests of Costa Rica and still after thousands of photos I feel as if my photography doesn't grasp the full emotions of a place. To me photographs are like kisses. Each photograph kisses a landscape, a portrait, an event differently. And just like kisses photographs can exhibit deep emotions. Although unlike kisses, which are fleeting, photographs can grasp and memorialize the emotions of a place. I want to learn how to kiss moments in time with my photography and have them gasp the full emotions of a place. I want to share with the world these emotions because emotions are the only universal language of the world.
