My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

I am a self taught photographer who, thanks to his work, has had the chance to travel to a few places in Latin America and take photos from those trips. Yet I love what I do because it involves working with people, I want to enhance my current skills and become a professional photographer. So far I haven't had the time and financial resources to do more studies on photography. I have taken some thousand photos, and follow some people on the internet in order to learn more from them. I believe the travel photography scholarship may be a wonderful opportunity to learn from an expert by spending some time with him on a field trip. More over, the scholarship may also give me chance to experience a different culture and share mine with the people. I believe every location has a wonderful story to tell and I am keen to tell every story with images. The set of pictures I am submitting talks about a particular sport practiced in Colombia, as well in some other countries in central America. The sport resembles the daily life of inhabitants of plain lands in Latin American who's life gravitates around the cattle. Despite how strong the sport may look they do care for their animals since they are their source of income. Moreover, their cultural features are strongly based on the relation between the people and the herd. I look forward to hear from you and to be able to become a storyteller thanks to the scholarship.
