My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Argentina | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 4 photos

My name is Pablo, 34 years old and from Buenos Aires. I work in film production. Recently I started also producing theatre and this led me to a theatre festival in Santos, Brazil. It was off-season and the beaches were almost empty, despite the weather was what I, an Argentinean who has cold beaches yet in summer, considered warm.
Santos has the biggest port in South America and you can see ships sailing back and forth in the beaches nearby. Seeing its people through the lens of my camera helped me to understand them better and fall in love with Brazil. That’s why I love photography. Its capacity to frame and focus on something and look at it in a different and deep way.

Since a child I was fascinated by images and at age 17, I started attending Film School. Life led me to work on film production, so I gladly provided others the elements to tell their stories, but over the years I felt I needed to step up and find a way to express my vision of things. I bought a Nikon D80 and started looking the world though it trying to find my own version of reality.

This scholarship is a great deal to me! I would love to learn and expand my photography knowledge, improving my technique, nurturing from the experience of chasing a perfect shoot and diving in and submerging into another culture.

Bellow each photo you will find a brief description of the moments I saw through the lens.
