My Scholarship entry - Exploring the Caucasus

If I could have the choice to pick a job that I would like to do then I would become a travel photographer. My deep longing is to follow the footsteps of Sebastiao Salgado who abandoned his position as an economist and fully dedicated his career to photographing humanity across the globe. For the moment, since that still remains a dream, I dedicate my free time to photographing the world around me and traveling whenever I can. Because I have never had any photography education or training, a scholarship with Jason Edwards would help me significantly to improve my technique and develop a more professional approach to the art of taking pictures. Besides since I am an economist specialized in environmental issues by degree, the topic of development and sustainability are very familiar to me and the Rainforest Expedition would allow me to gain valuable first-hand experience.
I have been lucky to travel intensively in my life, thanks to what I have developed a cultural awareness and open-mindedness as well as an appetite for more. I believe that those qualities, as well as my natural curiosity and sense of empathy make me the suitable person to be chosen for the scholarship.
