My Scholarship entry - OZASIA Festival

Australia | Thursday, January 10, 2013 | 5 photos

I'm born and brought up in India, lived in Singapore and finally migrated to Australia in 2005, I'm a Mechanical Engineer by trade but my passion are towards arts and culture.

I picked up photography early last year as my hobby but later it became my passion. As living in a multicultural country I attended many festivals of different communities and started to learn more about their culture and traditions as i photograph those events.
I in-turn provided the photos back to the artists and organisers as a gift to say Thank you.

As part of my Mechanical Engineering job i had some ample opportunities to travel overseas, this gave me some chance to get close with different cultures and traditions and so as many photo opportunities.

I used to watch a lot of documentaries in National Geographic channel thats when i learnt about Jason Edwards, His small documentary about "Dancing in the rain" inspired me a lot to become a photographer with National Geographic channel.

If chosen for this scholarship it would provide me a valuable opportunity to learn from an expert and gain my skills, this will help me to pursue my dream to become a travel and documentary photographer.
