Ibn Tullun Mosque

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Saturday, November 5, 2011 | flickr photos

These photos were taken in the insides of the Ibn tullun mosque at Cairo, Egypt. The mosque was completed on 879 AD.The mosque was constructed on a small hill called Gebel Yashkur, "The Hill of Thanksgiving." One local legend says that it is here that Noah's Ark came to rest after the Deluge, instead of at Mount Ararat.

I have always had a passion for photography since I was 10 years old i got my first Camera at the age of 15 my dad got me a 35 Yashica in my 15th birthday, Since then i had that feeling that I can see things differently through the camera view finder. It’s that quiet moment when you open your eye into the camera view finder, all the voices and noise around you just vanish and all you can see and hear is the scene that you are shooting.

It's that thing that drives me to keep shooting that i can see a photograph in everything around me, it's the only thing that i can be doing without feeling tired simply it makes me feel happy and most of the time a photography idea can pump up adrenaline into my brain.I want to keep photograph till I die, I want to spent days chasing zebras so I can get an awesome seconds of photographing, Go for a hike in the jungles to photograph the toucan. I want to sleep over a mountain so I can catch up the sunrise in the morning. I want to feel the cold of Iceland while photographing the northern lights I want to photograph these exceptional life moments!

I want to reach that state where i can photograph the soul of the scene, the people or the objects. You know when you see a picture just a simple picture but it makes you go " MMhMM " ...I want to get there !! I think being mentored by someone who has all that fiery excitement in his eyes …I can get there!

My Lens is My World.
