My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I started doing photo walks in 2011 as an exercise to use what I have learned about photography and later discovered my interest in the daily lives of ordinary people. I have been walking around my neighborhood for the past two years and still find interesting bits here and there while taking care not to feature the same subject (theme) if I have already shot something similar. I keep a record of my photo walks in my blog, and I am still doing that until this day. In a way I am documenting the people in my neighborhood.

The reason why I wish to join this scholarship is to experience what it is like and what it takes to be a travel photographer. I would like to learn how to present a more compelling story of people and their daily lives. This opportunity will allow me to understand a different culture, and open the possibility of doing travel photography in the future, whether it be for a personal pursuit or commissioned work. I would like to earn this scholarship.
