These are just a couple of the many adorable children I had the privilege of meeting during my time in Nepal. This brother and sister came running from their house to greet me as soon as they saw me walk by. The young girl is greeting me with a generous "Namaste", which means hello and goodbye in Nepal. The word "Namaste" also means, "I see the light in you."

This beautiful little girl, who appeared to be no older than three, looked at us with curious eyes. The people who live in the mountain town of Dhading rarely see foreigners, with the exception of the occasional volunteer teaching English.

She was all alone and must have climbed up the side of the mountain from her house. This may seem odd to Americans and Europeans that children at such a young age are given the freedom to roam with no adult supervision, but in Nepal it is fairly common.

I met these two women while wandering the streets of Panauti. I love how their personalities really shine through in this photo. The lady in red was the feisty one of the two and the woman in white loved having her photo taken.
