My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Philippines | Friday, October 15, 2010 | 4 photos

Hi, my name is Odrie Joy Gungab. I'd like to be called as OJ because I love orange juice! I'm an accountant by profession and a shutterbug by heart. Traveling abroad while learning photography is my biggest dream in life. I know I still have to learn a lot of things about photography that's why when I learned about this wonderful scholarship I never have a second thought of applying for this. I hope that WorldNomads will consider my application and take me to Bhutan to live, learn and love photography more!

The photos that I'm going to share with the world through WorldNomads are my photographs of the lovely Intramuros. This is a very historical place for every Filipino. This place reflects a lot of emotions that took place during the Spanish era in the Philippines. Sorrow, strength, and love. Families or friends, Filipinos or Spaniards, all of them felt sorrow. Sorrow for losing the one they love, sorrow for losing their religion. But with enough strength, Filipinos gained back their freedom. Freedom that our national hero Jose Rizal gave us because of his undying love for his country. Yes, love! Love indeed is a many splendor thing. Love of a culture, faith, people and land.

Take me please? :)
