So I arrive early to work to find that most of the children and teachers are on the covered terrace starting a yoga session. I sit with them and realise that they are the bendiest children I have ever seen in my life. The children and teachers are genuinely shocked that I cannot cross my legs never mind bend over in that position and place my forehead on the ground! - hello
Ok recycling is one of my favourite subjects and Bangalore is the place to reflect a wee bit more. There are hundreds of small shacks on the side of roads who are packing up old cardboard boxes and newspapers or bagging up plastic bottles and crushing metal oil containers or making them into other useful things yet households do not divide their rubbish up or recycle. My small bin ( one you would have under your sink)can be put out on my front door and picked up by the refuse people every day. The side of every road is covered in plastic bags and their content as well as vegetable based rubbish ( coconut palms and shells making up quite a bit of it). The Bangalore district government is bringing in a law on 1st October to make people divide their rubbish up- is it providing anywhere for people to then put it?
Time will tell if anyone pays any attention.
