"From Darkness to Light"
This is my favourite shot. I was in Rishikesh, one of the sacred places for hindus of india on the banks of river Ganges. There are two man made bridges Ramjhula and Lakshmanjhula which connect two banks of rishikesh over Ganges river. This was taken on Lakshman jhula on the occasion of diwali and since the subject was ahead of me and suddenly a motobike came from the opposite direction. So I thought to give it a shot and capture the moment ; where it seems that the subject is moving towards light from darkness; pretty apt for rishikesh as millions of souls visit this holy city to find some guidance in there life.
I am a software professional, who took to photography as a hobby; but there is a deeper motive behind it which I always had since my childhood. I want to use my photos as a means of awareness about wildlife, natural habitat protection and also to bring forth the social evils and injustice. I know its difficult but not impossible. I constantly struggle to balance my worklife with my passion and hope some day I can manage both. There is still lots to learn and improve upon.
I try to improve upon by constantly referring to online photography community and seek guidance from it.
I am planning to contribute to 'Save Tiger' project which deals with conservation of India Tiger in the Indian subcontinent. Apart from that I actively participate in the outings organised by BNHS, which time and again has been promoting the cause of natural India.
I have travelled to Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong and enjoyed the rich cultural diversity of these places.
I just want to capture as much as I can and share as much as I can ! My bucket list includes
- Exploring Ladakh on Bike
- Contribute to 'Save Tiger' project by increasing awareness using my pictures and write ups.
- Contribute to preservation of natural habitats and wildlife.
- A visit to great Mansarovar Lake in Tibet.
- Some day set foot on Alps.
- Witness the great transit of Masai Marah.
- Witness a live kill/hunt by a Lion/Tiger.
