My Scholarship entry - The campus that changed my life

I was born in a Socialist country of Azerbaijan. However, right after my birth Socialist regime in Azerbaijan was demolished; therefore, I grew up in a capitalist Azerbaijan which was striving to overcome poverty in order to become one of the powerful petroleum exporters of the world. After high school graduation, in order to find my true self and get a good education with knowledge of a new culture, I went to study in Ankara, Turkey. Although I had a lot of troubles like cultural shock and financial downs, I managed to overcome those problems and reassure myself that it was the right choice. In my university campus, where I also lived, was the place where I met a lot of extraordinary people and experienced unrepeatable experiences. Today, I can consciously admit that I am what I am thanks to my choice to study at Middle East Technical University.
I started to be interested in photography after my uncle gave me his old zenit 12 xp film camera. I love the way photos made by that camera shows the present in the image of the past.
