My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

My name is Olha, I come from Ukraine. I used to study in Lithuania, I got my bachelors in management this summer. And in my last semester I took digital photography class, it has never been taught before or after. For a teacher I had wonderful photographer and person Jerry Holsopple. It was only than I realized that it is something I want to do and I'm good at it, but I didn't think that I was that good. At some point professor told me:" I don't know that you are doing here studying business, you are very creative and you should do photography". I love traveling and I love experiencing different cultures and people with mentality and worldview different from mine. It is often that there is so much we can learn from different cultures. Having met people from so many countries I never had a chance to meet people from this particular part of the world. So their customs, culture and nature is a beautiful mystery to me. Through documentaries and pictures you can not feel the culture and people as well as in person ,especially such sophisticated culture as in the Bhutan. And I would want to try give the real feel of Bhutan to other people through my pictures. To be honest I would have to say that I'm very good at composition photography, and portraits and stuff. Working in the field is not my strongest side, and I need to work on it. I have also to say that I'm a quick learner. So I think that it would be great opportunity to master my skills of field work with the help of such an amazing photographer and utilize my creativity and my unique view on things for other people to see the Bhutan from interesting and unique perspective.
I learned about scholarship less than 24 hours before deadline so it it is 'last minute productions'.
