My family's reflections on the beach!

My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

Worldwide | Friday, November 4, 2011 | 5 photos

There are events in our life where we don’t want things to come to an end or if we could, hold the time still and enjoy the beauty of life as it happen. That is why I love taking photos, every moment, all angles and emotions drawn are different therefore, every shots count.

One morning my wife and I decided to take my eldest son on his first taste of the beach. We went to Heason’s Cove in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia where I work for 4 years now. It was low tide, and the fine gray sand is just perfect to go walking along the shore.

At first, my son was a bit hesitant to walk. As he puts down his toes, tried to feel the sand and felt it is safe, he then started running in all directions like a free spirit. At one point he looks so cheeky getting out of her mother’s sight. He played with his reflections in the water as if he has found a new playmate. My wife enjoyed walking along as my youngest son sleeps on her chest.

I, on the other hand, was busy taking photos, capturing every moment and experimenting with my Olympus 510 DLSR camera. The result, stunning images of my family at the beach.

It is for that very reason why I should get scholarship. Not because I am good at it, but I like to capture the moments as it happen and pass that real emotions to those people looking at my photographs.
