Secret rooms of Versailles

FRANCE | Wednesday, 27 May 2015 | Views [118] | Scholarship Entry

All my little adventures start when I am at right place and right time. I see and hear something exclusive, the main thing is to have charged camera, be silent, imperceptible and speak less. So, there is one of my chances.
Rainy morning. Ticket windows have not worked yet, but the queue is impressive. My chief and me, wearing jeans, running shoes and polo necks have left our bus and are looking round. Next second three BMWs get in, stop 2 meters from us. Guys in classic suits come out, the last is the Prime Minister of our country. Anzhelika (my chief) says “hallo” to one of the classic suits, I wonder “Are we members of the delegation?”, “I don`t know – she replied – but we try to be”. One of suits open “secret” door and all the delegation come in. We as well. Mister “Hallo” look at us, we smile. We enter Versailles using VIP door, visit hall after hall as all tourist usually do, then we enter bedroom of kings including all facilities – this was my first experience of seeing the toilet with golden coverage (sorry for details). The most interesting in this visit was the king theatre built in period of Louis XIV. Guide told us an amusing story about concert of Elton John (Jacques Chirac presidential period) – there is a good acoustic in there, but British singer never make performance without microphone. What of it? Ask guides (or administration) about king theatre and story about mentioned concert. So, we had good time, but attention of the Head of Protocol service of Prime Minister overclouded this intellectual delight. My chief told him something convincing, I think, his puzzled look meant active mental work.
When excursion was finished we were asked (by Mister “Hello”) not to continue be “a part of the delegation”.
