My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

For most of my life I drew and told stories through painted images, while using photography to document my travels and experiences. Many years of study led me to London where I now work in the animation industry, a job that I enjoy on many levels and yet I would like to change.
Drawing every day from my desk is a privilege, but I feel that I'd like to abandon my chair and start a path that requires me to travel and see places.

What I like about photography is its immediacy in capturing an image, be it a lucky snapshot of an unrepeatable instant or a well thought and calibrated composition.
When I travel I always make sure to carry a camera and some films with me, because when I'm moving I seldom have the chance to stop, enjoy a view and draw on my sketchbook. I love it when I have the chance, but taking photographs is more immediate and it gives me the possibility of seeing more and creating more pictures in the same day.

While I have no formal training in photography, I studied painting and film-making; working with Jason would be a great opportunity to turn my life around, assist a world class photographer and learn from him in a most inspiring environment.
