My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

India | Friday, July 5, 2013 | 5 photos

Sometimes it’s as easy as being in the right place at the right time and all it takes is a click, other times it is a matter of preparation, waiting for that special and amazing once in a lifetime shot. However, no matter where it begins and how it ends, photography for me is all about nature and its beauty. After completing my Master Degrees in Environmental Science from University of East Anglia UK. I decided to come back home country INDIA and started working with NGOS on Research work related nature and wildlife conservation and habitat management etc.

I am an amateur photographer, I have no formal training in photography and its techniques and such an opportunity would improve my techniques and train my eye for the right photo, but it will not change my passion and the scope of it; that is always going to be aimed and nature and its beauty. I like to spend time doing tiger census and hiking in the woods of India taking pictures of wildlife, but some of my best photos come right from my backyard. This probably comes from living in India, a country where the connection between man and nature has not been severed with overpopulation and urban development.

My photographs help tell the story of the connection between man and nature, that unadulterated communion that has much too often been forgotten or taken for granted. This is why I truly want to take part in this amazing opportunity in Greenland. It will be a great time to work with Jason Edward and also get chance to learn new things from this assignment. After all, my final destination with photography is being a wildlife & Nature photographer.
