Umbul winangun is a bathing complex for the royal family at Taman Sari. It consist of three pools that decorated with big flower pots and springs shaped like mushroom. In the era when this pools were still used, only females and sultan were allowed to enter this bathing complex.

Taman sari is a site of a former royal garden of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. Taman Sari was built during the reign of Sultan Hamengkubuwono I, which was around the 17 century. Originally Taman Sari was built as resting place for Sultan and his family. Although today Taman Sari is no longer used by the Sultan of Yogyakarta and some parts of the building had been suffered some damage by the time, the local residents keep maintaining this site as a tourism site so that we can still enjoy the remaining beauty of Taman Sari.

The remaining greatness from the past. Taman Sari used to have a lot of sculptures as ornaments. But now all that left is only the remnants of those sculptures because of the damage that caused by the earthquake that often struck Yogyakarta.
