My Scholarship entry - Heading north
Iceland | Monday, November 24, 2014 | 5 photos
Being fascinated by art since childhood, I took to photography several years ago – starting from short amateur clips, I was pursuing bigger goals, which quickly led me to freelance work for a well-known European media Deutsche Welle and several online courses on creativity and entrepreneurship.
One of my current part-time jobs is teaching English, which requires good knowledge of foreign culture. Travelling is a promising way to get absorbed into earning new experience. I am inspired by an opportunity to make a long-term project based on my journeys, usually as a photo-exhibition combined with a series of lectures on different aspects of every country I have visited.
My university degree in management has also contributed to building a career in travel photography. I use economic skills while organizing exhibitions and negotiating over selling my works. Moreover, possessing a broad network of contacts from the art sphere in my area, I try to link Russian artists with their colleagues abroad to promote further cultural partnership.
Winning the scholarship would mean a step further in my artistic career and would contribute significantly to my lifelong learning experience.
