well after 2 years on the road and countless near misses, scrapes, scars bruises, laughter, tears and of course happiness i am back on that big continent filled with kangaroos bouncing happily. although i have yet to see one which is unusual. did some one hide them all while i was away???? my funniest quote on arrival was from the guy at cusstoms. who greeted me....oh gday mate just go on right thru there eh...yes..i am back in the wonderful world of oz..much like the fantasy story. you know it took me 2 years of listening to people imitate, mock and laugh at our accents, and only a day on arrival, to realise it and believe it for my self. we are a funny breed. but also by far the friendliest and most helpful bunch i have come across. truely the land of time and space. everybody has a few minutes and in the space of a morning, i had told my 2 year travel in europe in asia story to numerous people i had only just sat down next to. each person remembering and reliving their own travel expereince whether it was to ayers rock or their honeymoon in europe. the frist i was resubmerged into aussie culture. firstly a meat pie, then a bus past the australian zoo, formerly home of steve irwin. at the train station i was greeted by some mates, in a short wheel base cruise, surf board on top and full of flesh. i had met 1 in a festival in bulgaria, and his friends 1 had aslo just returned from libving in france for 10 years and the other a pom visiting them. we arrived at the baeach an awesome and mesmerizing feeling came over me. it was summer, and the girls were certainly dressing for it..europe it was autumn....all rugged up. a tradition we had a swim then sat at a cafe eating a kilo of fresh prawns..the funny thing was though, that we were all still in europe. 3 aussies and a pom, who were all experiencing the same feeling of re-entry...now i am with my parents, they dont understand what i have been through and experienced, they just tell me i am living in the land of the fairies..maybe i am, or.....
