The ghost town known as Kolmanskop
Namibia | Thursday, June 20, 2013 | 5 photos
From the darkest parts of humanity to the beauty and majesty of nature, the camera is both a witness and an interpreter of what I see and feel.
Photography is not only an excellent medium for self expression, but also a powerful tool for educating and broadening our understanding of the world. The more we know, the more we experience, the better prepared we are to make our lives and the lives of others better.
Having recently moved to Africa from Canada and having ample time to travel, I am aiming to capture this new place and to share my experiences, both good and bad, with others. I want those viewing my photos to see and feel what I see and feel as I take my shots.
As a dedicated wildlife rehabilitation volunteer, I am especially interested in improving my photography and learning how best to use it to help charity organizations communicate their message to the public. I desire guidance and the opportunity to hone my photography skills so that I can better capture, edit, and select images that are relevant, moving, and thought provoking.
This scholarship would help me to make a difference in the world. I am prepared to work hard, to listen, to learn, and to give back.
