This is Part One of a two-part instalment. Firstly, some background. The area around Tours is 'Chateau Land' and home to many trogolodite dwellings. A fascinating area that to drive 50km on the A10 (to Paris) costs you 5 Euro! What a rort! Time to get into the super-highway business methinks...
Another location that has way too many things to see even if you were here for a few months. First choice was the pick of the Chateaus, the Chombard. This location also has a 1,100 hectare reserve o go with its impressive size and features.
Truly an amazng experience to walk up a dual helix staircase designed by Leonardo Da Vinci himself. He died in the local area (Amboise) but left many favourable impressions.
It is to this that I will speak of later in he ensuing chapter...
