My Scholarship entry - The Beauty of Nature.

I have always preferred being outside exploring rather than trapped within the confines of walls. I used to get extremely emotional and frustrated by the devastation the human race inflicts on our planet, and humanity’s lack of respect for the natural world. The only way my father was able to pacify me was by telling me this one simple sentence, a creed I have come to live by:
"You cannot save the entire world, but you can choose an area you are passionate about and work to make it better.”
His reassuring words made me understand that making a small difference in one region is better than nothing. I am currently living in South Africa, using my photography and writing skills to make whatever positive differences I can, in a land I have come to love.
Through these mediums I aim to travel and raise awareness of global conservation issues, both marine and land-based. Hopefully, it will make those ignorant of nature’s importance realize how deeply intertwined we are with it.
In order to do this I still have a steep learning curve and believe that working with you in the field will enable me to gain that experience, I would be humbled to be accepted onto such a fantastic scholarship.
