A Moment In Cambodia

I’m Nicole, twenty-two.
My love for photography didn’t start at an early age nor was it something I had ever given much thought about in my earlier years. I was always a little tom boy climbing trees with a guinea pig in my arms or a chicken at my heels, and that side has still never really left me. My first camera was given to me as a hand me down at age 16. It was a Canon G7, and to this day I feel like I owe that camera a great deal. It gave me a hobby, a passion, and most importantly, it made me realise what I have to do in life. Photography.
My selected shots are not my usual photography. My personal preference is wildlife, nature and landscapes. I’ve always had a deeper connection to wildlife and nature than I have with people. It’s never been something I could change nor have I ever minded. However in Cambodia I felt deeper connections with the people and the children, so that is what I captured and why.
Photography makes me feel happy in capturing and creating something of my own. In the right moment with the right light, it is something unique that people can appreciate and see the beauty in.
My biggest dream - to capture the world through the lens of my camera.
