Social status means nothing here

My name is Nik and I am a 23 year old semi freelance photographer. I have always loved photography and in 2011 I got my first SLR. It was also in that same year that I won a Nikon sponsored photography competition showcasing the " beauty and diversity of South Africa ". I attended a few festivals with my camera and after my first album was released, I was invited by various organisers to cover their events. I never asked for payment, because I thought it would take away my reason for shooting- the passion that I have. I love how there are no social statuses at these events. No judgement or disagreements between people, but smiles and dancing. I try my best to convey the emotion as well as the atmosphere in my photographs.

I have travelled across Southern Africa on foot documenting 2 men walking for education, but personally I prefer showing something closer to home and my heart. Why should I be considered? My love for exploring and documenting places is something that I plan on making a career out of - one small step at a time. It is a slow process, but I am planning on living my dreams and travelling the world with my camera.
