Over the last few days we followed a gorge that wound its way through the countryside. It had been carved out by a volcano erruption and the subsequent lava flow, and now a creek flowed through it. We reached the volcano by the last day of the trip.
the countryside is so diverse, if i ever come back, id love to do a mtbing trip
bath/swim in the creek
picking wild berries growing on the side of the gorge
Apparently 100's of these stone carvings are found along the gorge's length
those are yaks on the horizon
wooden bridge over the lava flow/creek
nearing the volcano on the last day
underground cave near our lunch stop on the last day
We arrived to our final destination destination, a lakeside gher camp. We said goodbye to our guides - everyone was going back in the van except Aghougar, who was to herd the horse back to our starting point. Except what took us 8 days to ride, he would ride in two-three days. It was pretty crazy. He didnt even have a rest, he just jumped up on his horse, rounded up the others and galloped off.
