My Scholarship entry - Some photod from the Oregon Zoo

USA | Thursday, November 13, 2014 | 5 photos

I am an aspiring nature photographer/film maker. My entire life the natural world and it's inhabitants have inspired me and captured my imagination. It leaves me in a state of awe. To be chosen would be the best thing to ever happen to me and words could not describe how grateful I would be. I have experience in both photography and film, experience with a wide variety of animals, outdoor travel experience, and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I've been volunteering with the Oregon Zoo for 6 years now and have worked with everything from bugs and mice to lions and elephants. I've also worked with the education and leadership departments leading entire events and educating the public. I have taken many classes for film and photography and I am looking to major in it along with my biology degree. I want to show the world through the pieces I create that conservation is something that we all need to focus on, be it the animals of the Amazon, or the Amazon itself. I have never been outside of North America and your scholarship would be one of the few means to experience and expand my cultural view of the world. Please consider me as a worthy candidate for your scholarship.
