About nicolekilgour
So being a travel agent and having done a small amount of travel here and there throughout my adult life, I found myself constantly searching travel related links on the net. Finding things that inspired me, from Youtube videos to travel blogs, to wanderlust posts of Buzzfeed- it became something of a boredom killer every time I had a spare moment to myself.
I thought I may as well do some sharing of my own. Having only done Australasia, Vietnam and parts of Western Europe up until about a month ago, I felt a little inferior in comparison to some actual Nomads around the world who have seen twenty times more than what I have come across so far. But then I think the love of travel is something of a mindset. Whether you have explored one country outside of your own, or 50; you are still looking for a similar experience. That’s what’s addictive- the exploration of an environment that is not your own.
I guess I should do some sort of introduction of myself. So here goes:
My name is Nicole Kilgour, I am 21 years old and am originally from a small town in the South Island of New Zealand. When I was 17 I jumped on a Singapore Airlines flight to Frankfurt with my high school and ever since then I have been addicted to going places. When I was 18 I moved to Melbourne in Australia, during that time I headed to Europe another two times to see some stuff I didn’t see the first time. I then became a travel agent cos I like talking to people and I like travel- whats better than talking to people about travel?! Thanks to selling travel I got to travel for free (just once- it’s not the common occurrence people seem to think it is) to Vietnam, where I first experienced a country that was not comparable in anyway to my home. This just fuelled my hunger and added more countries to my bucket list. In September of this year, I jumped on a plane back to New Zealand where for the first time I came back for more than three days. I got to see my family and basically have a countdown to the second I got to get on a plane again.
This is where this blog-y thing starts. When I get on a plane, with no intention of returning to my small town. Maybe hang around, read some stuff- that would be cool.
