Nicola and Liams Adventure

Day 95

So today we packed out bags and got sorted for our onwards journey. Again i have a terrible headache today which seems to be a running theme again in the last few days. after downing some more paracetamol we checked out for 12 and flagged down a taxi. The plan was to go to the doctors for Liam but we were told they were closed on a Friday, so the only thing left to do considering we had all our bags to carry was to go straight to the port. We got there around 12.30 and sat somewhere to eat, after which I had a little hissy fit because when Liam went to pay he paid the 10% service charge despite me saying I by no means felt we should! We had been waiting so so long for everything and we had even been waiting so long for our plates to be cleared and the second half of hour meal to come that we had to get up and go ask for it to be put in a bag to take away. In my opinion if weve waited for over half an hour on top of all the other waits and ended up not even eating our desert in the restaurant...they dont deserve a tip. Liam says I'm turning into a food service snob, perhaps I am! Perhaps I'm just in a foul mood today, thinking about little Oliver an awful lot so can't be dealing with people ripping us off!

Anyway we spent a good hour and a half or so waiting in Starbucks for our check in time, then after that everything was delayed so we waited somewhere else for another hour or so. When we finally got onto the ferry it was nicer than the last one, but only because the one we were supposed to be on had broken down and we were on the replacement! We watched an overhead film of hellboy 2 and part of the ghost rider before arriving at penang.

It was around 8.30pm by this time and although we could easily have walked Liam flagged down a taxi due to it getting late and not being fully sure of directions. The taxi driver completely ripped us off and I didn't like him! But, we arrived safe and sound at our little boutique hotel in little India, Georgetown. It's a heritage house and very cosy. Rooms are very small with shared toilets and showers but they have a DVD player with DVDs and a place to make hot drinks or prepare little bits of food. We wernt hungry because we had already eaten stuff on the boat so we got away with just chatting to the guy on reception about what to see tomorrow and settling down for the evening to try and relax.
