My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I love to learn, I love to record, I love images, I love real life. At 38 I returned to study leaving behind my career in housing, I wanted to depict the world around me and to try to change peoples perceptions of the everday and the normal, boring, insignificant things that pass us by.
My stepchildren have grown up and I am now in 'me' time. I don't have the best kit and I definitely don't have the best photographic eye, yet. But I want to and to do that I have to learn from acclaimed masters of this art.
I am fascinated by the theory of photography and how it translates into the blobs of ink on paper or other materials. How these blobs affect people who see them and what they record as a permanent feature of that moment in time is, to me, what photography is about.
I live in an eco-home and am conscious of the changes happeing in our world for my kids and their kids, the landscape is changing and this is a one off chance to record the light, the earth and the overall beauty of a place. It will never be the same again and if I am chosen, I shan't either.
