A glance of the Baduy Luar

As a child in Guyana nosing in old boxes, I stumbled upon an old newspaper clipping of an eclipse. My dad told me; with a basic box camera he captured a near perfect image and made the news. Impressed! My passion was born. Those golden moments hued in my mind like carbon on paper. I longed for adventures of different culture, historic sights and faces of all walks of life.
I learnt how to fly a Cessna 172. Soaring above the world I captured images, in my mind and through lens. Searching for insight, perspective – both in the air and on the ground I would go to any level to find the right angle- The world splitting beneath the clouds or with my cheek next to a puddle.
2005 I left corporate world - amongst other things I photographed for London fashion week and had a well-received exhibition in Jakarta. Since then I’ve travelled, lived and photographed in over twenty countries. My images brought awareness to the rest of the world through BBC and CNN of a tragic flood in Thailand.
Currently I am documenting on giving “thanks” and “recognition” to workingwomen of all classes. Women are the main workforce behind most of todays’ luxuries like tea, coffee, rice- even roads.
