Today, every person i know owns an SLR and they produce the most technically impeccable images and yet they lack the soul. As Ansel Adams said “You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” I may just possess my simple camera but yet I have traveled far and long, writing stories, hearing experiences, being immersed in various cultures that I feel having lived a thousand lives, stories that burn within me, waiting to be freed through that lens. Coming from Mumbai to completing my graduation at USC(LA), I now work in Cancer Research, where I deal with images even for my work, as if every image tells me a story about that patient and what they have been through and I realized that my bond with photography has just gotten stronger and having proven everything academically which broadened my mind to think and express including through my dance, I now need to learn the technicalities from a mentor like Jason and fulfill my dream I have been nurturing all along that someday i will be a photographer & not just a cannon or a nikon owner.
