My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Brazil | Friday, January 11, 2013 | flickr photos

It’s not hard to any of the applicants to say why they – and not someone else – should be chosen. Perhaps this is the hardest part for me. I’m sure there will be brilliant breathtaking shots, amongst which, mine. Five simple, though pretty honest framed views of a low budget end-of-the year trip with friends in which I tried to catch a glimpse of the city of São Thomé das Letras, Brazil.

My interest in photography grew along my lust for going to the outdoors. As I went hiking through the valleys of my privileged hometown, I felt the need to somehow capture from the small details to the great landscapes of what lay before my eyes, and photography intrinsically became part of going what I loved the most.

Taking part of the contest provides amateur photographers from the entire globe a unique opportunity. Pushing our own photography skills forward on a journey through such a special place like Oman and being mentored by Jason Edwards is just an experience of a lifetime. I may not have accomplished what it takes to be a recognized photographer yet, but I’ve got the drive and I’m avid for this.
