My name is Helen Dean.I'm 20 years old.I was born in South Africa.In July 2012,my family moved to Canada.I've been taking photos for about 3 years.I love capturing moments in time and making it immortal.I love art,The Beatles,children,writing, daisies,tea,puzzles,unexpected adventures and walking around barefoot.But my greatest passion is photography.
I decided to enter this scholarship because I want to learn. My father is a pastor and my mom doe not work.Added to the fact that we just relocated and I can't yet legally work, there's no money for me to go to study.This scholarship would allow me to learn skills that could help me make photography a career.While I do think I have a bit of talent,I need a lot of work and training. I would absolutely love to learn from one of the best photographers out there.I want to learn what it's like to take photos with a goal in mind,for some one other than myself.I want to grow in confidence and expand my knowledge;give back to a world that has given so much to me and save memories for people for as long as I am able.I'm not afraid of hard work or criticism,getting up early or being on my feet all day.I will learn whatever you want to teach me.
