Over the years, i have found that any form of artistic expression i have attempted has been somewhat dismal, and it’s only in the past year that i have come to find my love for photography. To be honest, i’m not sure what it is about photography that i find so appealing. It is something that i feel is so natural, and it feels so right to do. It offers me an outlet to express thoughts and emotions that are otherwise usually repressed. Having studied at university for 5 years has certainly caused lots of strife and anxiety, especially in my chosen field, and photography offers me a release, a freedom. The first time i picked up my SLR camera, i just started to point and click, and since then, i have never wanted to stop. I find this rare solace in photography that no other aspect of my life offers, and i love the perspective that it offers in it’s entirety. It offers a view of the world through a completely different set of eyes, and to be a part of something so special means everything to me. This scholarship offers something i would otherwise never have experienced, and should i be chosen for it, it would change my life completely.
