My driver dropped me to the airport and I had no idea what happened next. All if I recollect hard I saw myself walking at the ticket counter, the lady smiling at me, I pointed her to some flight flashed on a huge giant TV screen and the next thing which woke me up was the sunlight diving in from the window of the airplane, striking me sitting inside. I brushed my eyes to encapsulate the vicinity better. I saw a gorgeous woman smiling holding a vessel of a hot Latte. I was in a business class. But it did not matter anymore. I enjoyed more smiling back at the hostess than I enjoyed my freshly brewed Latte. Alas ! I was in love. But the reality took no long to strike its brutality to me. She smiled at every other customer that way. I laughed my GUT out of my stupidity. But wait a minute… Hold on… I was laughing ! Again ! Was it after half a decade ? Don’t know. But I was feeling Happy, liberated and easy.
I landed GOA. As I walked out, million faces starred at me wondering where this guy would like to go? But I stood starring them back clueless… I finally had no plan. No itenary, no destination. I was BLANK. Suddenly a breath taking voice came from my back. “ Hi Again”. I turned back. It was her, the airhostess. I smiled speechlessly and smiled with my heart out. Silence drew in as I didn’t speak a word. She chuckled and said again “ I am staying at the TAJ where are you putting up” ? Alas ! I spoke ! I said “ I still need to figure that out, maybe a beach side Hut with no air conditioner”. Saying that I took my black Oakley out, wore them, smiled at her. Slid my visiting card in her jacket and left. I noticed she stood there for a minute till I was gone.
I reached Vagator somewhere in North Goa. Where on my arrival the gigantic Arabian Sea Roared with its heavy waves to me.
I ran to surrender myself to the sea. I floated and looked at the spotless blue sky. I promised myself to visit this place once every year. The annihilation had settled now and I felt rejuvenated as never before. Walking out of the sea I looked at my watch. It was 9am. I can still make it to work in 2 hours. So now here I am back in delhi with sand on my sleeves. About to enter my office escalator, typing the last bits of my journey on my phone with a promise to visit Goa again and maybe see the place with Elise. Oh it’s the airhostess. Just received a text from her. Shalom
