So close yet far on low tide at mid day this sole lies from freedom in the Tasman sea, or does he? Was he washed ashore in search of food or retreating from a much larger predator hunting him as the prey? (Royal National Park)

Just starting off my day I come across one of the smallest yet strongest soldiers in the world. A keen piece of a complex chain of command that fears nothing & in this case, no-one. Even when something 10,000 times it's size comes along and yet it backs down for nothing to protect it's colony.

After just a few hours the Australian sun proves it's strength to be unforgiving. So it's time for some shade, rest & relaxation. To forget about the surrounding world and take a break to the peaceful sounds of the water from the passing stream.
