My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

United Kingdom | Saturday, January 12, 2013 | 5 photos

At a young age I was exposed to culture, having an Iranian and Egyptian heritage. Every year we would visit the likes of Kuwait, America, France and later on, Egypt. I believe my desire to observe and to catalogue experience stemmed from these experiences as well as my love and dedication to innovating my own work and world perspective within every new experience.

As a 26 year old serious hobbyist in photography, I am excited about this opportunity and regardless of the idea of failure or success, I've learnt that pushing the boundaries and challenging oneself practically and mentally is key to opening new doors which is why I feel I am a suitable for this apprenticeship. I fully enjoy taking risks, immersing myself as part of the places I travel to and pushing myself to enhance my skills I have developed so far. The camera becomes a permanent extension of me when I travel.

My other hobbies include cartoon illustration, short story writing, piano composition, guitar and drumming. From a young age, exploring the wider picture was always of a fascination to me. The desire for discovery is still strong and always will be as well as my confidence in face of adversity and challenge.
