Welcome Mountain by Hundreds Dogs
Some people maybe start their adventures from some famous places which are located far from their hometown. Overseas traveling or taking Europe tour are two of other kind of traveling that I cannot afford. But I started my adventure in Bandung, West Java. I am originally from East Java but I dreamed about an adventure in West Java, especially in Bandung. What I have got when spending my 14-days in Bandung is hiking the track of Manglayang Mount. One of mountains in Bandung which is located in…
Tracking from my aunt’s house at about 9.00 a.m. –it was too brave to take hiking at that time cause it was too hot, Bandung is not as cold as when it was ten years ago– my two nieces and I were tracking for about 3 kilometers ascend for the beginning the track. As what I wished, the track is so rough and it’s slope upward. You have to keep your feet stuck on the ground if you do not want to roll over and over down to the feet. The stones and ground were enough to make my shoes became wet and slick. This is my first hiking adventure so I was really excited, no pain and no fear at first period of one hour tracking, but hundreds of dogs surprised me when we arrived in one of paths that surrounding by villages. They were barking at the same time and they did not stop just for a single time. I have been so scared but my niece, Farish said that I did not need to be worry because they were welcoming us here. After welcoming by hundreds of amazing four-legged animals, we continued our hiking and do the best for this extremely ascend track.
I was amazed with the landscape and everything around Manglayang Mount. I found out a lot of pines grow well there and green shiny grass makes it really natural. From the first gate to the inside of area of Manglayang there is so much pine cones. Absolutely amazing! The fresh air and slow wind blows making the pines gracefully dancing. I was lucky because Manglayang was rarely visited so I could enjoy my time without any crowd. Spending two hours for taking pictures and exploring the mountain have made me enough for wondering about the beauty of hilliness of Manglayang. The green pines and smooth grass bring everyone who is there back to nature, the cheerfully singing of the birds sounds and give you complete peace through the wind. My big 6 kilometers hiking ascend and descend can not be forgot, Manglayang is gift of nature of the mountainous Bandung.
