My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Have you ever had the feeling, that with each step you take, any given day, everything your eyes observe you wish they could capture it immediately? Contempling that couple in the airport, in tears, without knowing if the meaning of that kiss is farewell or goodbye ; or that mysterious lonely cat unnoticed in the middle of the crowd; or the felucca rider dressed as it has been for thousands of years with strong features and intense eyes, inviting to let my mind wonder, and at the same time ease with the sound of the wind and the felucca breaking in the Nile, or to see the market come more alive when most tourists wouldnt dare to wonder thare, at night. So many moments, such a short life. The real photographer is the one who has the feeling of belonging anywhere, anytime, and has the eye for the true moment – and manages to capture them. The first time I had a camera in my hands, I knew it was my passion. I am a photographer, not by profession yet, but by heart. I’ve heard many times I should do this for a living, and I would really like to receive some experts’ feedback. Technicalities need to be learned in order to get THE perfect shot – I need to get proper filters and not use sunglasses for that purpose. I’ve learned three main things required and I know I’ve got them : patience, talent and luck. I’m looking forward to become versed in this art, I’m determined to gain as much knowledge as possible, to prepare myself for future shots, and to get the pictures that will let the world see my own vision of it.
