My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
I am Myentthein Promila (29, Female) belong to Rakhaine community among the 45 Indigenous groups in Bangladesh.
The Rakhaine have been living at the coastal areas of Bangladesh. Land grabbing by mainstream people is a one of the major issue that is directly linked to their status of minority Indigenous group and historical factors: hundreds of cyclone and tidal surges that they have experienced in the last decades have wiped of many documents related to ownership of their lands. Nowadays there is influx of many non-Rakhaine people into those areas accompanied by fabrication of false property documents based on partisanship and corruption.
I submitted one photo of this community at village of Amkholapara, Kalapara upazila under Patuakhali district among the five photos.
When I was traveling at rural area of Barisal division in Bangladesh I have taken photo of a Mantel disorder women had been laying on moving Ferry. Others photos also have taken from same place.
