Three days in the burmese countryside

My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Myanmar | Monday, January 14, 2013 | flickr photos

Nothing harder than to come up with a reason to be chosen instead of thousands of other talented people but i'll give it a try.

I've always seen photography as a hobby, something i would do for my own satisfaction, to let my creative side expresses itself, maybe that is why i never seriously considerated photography as a way of living.

I was brought to this contest by a spanish friend whom i traveled with for several days in Cambodia. She convinced me (but wasnt the only one to tell me) that some of my pictures, particularly those taken during a several months trip between january and june 2012 desserved to appear in a place like World Nomads, and in a contest like this one.

I believe she is right. One of the most enjoyable aspect of photography is that it is something you can share, and that is very accessible. Anyone without a technical or artistic background can appreciate a picture for what it is : a snapshot of time and space depicting the beauty of our world.

I can only wish i could make a living out of photography as it definitely is one of the most enjoyable work in the world. Who knows, this opportunity could definitely put me on path.
