    Today things are relatively peaceful, compared to a few years ago when a young man was shot and killed in broad day light by a lone gunman while walking on this street. Although the blood stains have since been washed away the events of that morning will forever soak into the minds and culture of the residents of Swallow Field. Views[234] Due to Jamaica's high unemployment rate most young people are left with a lot of time on their hands. On days when there isn’t much else to do, residents gather on the front porch of a burnt out abandoned house called “the gambling house”. Here a group of young women are playing for a chance to win. Views[209] Sean Kelly is an aspiring rapper / singjay who has an affinity for tattoos. Sean has big plans for himself and a rather intriguing outlook on life, but like most youths who live within a garrison community they are left behind due to a lack of opportunity and guidance. Youths like him spend most of their days weighing out their options which are few. Views[979] Another descendant of the Swallow Field garrison community takes a much needed smoke break from the running of his Ital Food Restaurant. He puffs on a chillum pipe with a wad of local $1000 notes purposely tucked into the neck of his t-shirt. Views[239] Self employment is a common practice in the Swallow Field Community. Here is a bar attached to a bicycle repair shop owned and operated by a man from the community known as Fudgy. Unfortunately Fudgy is not at work today he died a few hrs earlier in the hospital after his long standing battle with lung cancer was cut short. The shop is now closed. Views[345]
