My sad yet fun adventure in Macau

MACAU | Wednesday, 7 May 2014 | Views [197] | Scholarship Entry

I'll never forget the day that time when I first stepped my feet on Macau. I was just arrived at the Macau harbor from Kowloon, Hong Kong. Being a little nauseated from the boat-trip, I continued my journey to find hostel that i had booked from an online website, which located at Rua de Felicidade. Rua de Felicidade basically means 'Happiness Street', but to find that street...it wasn't that easy.
First of all, I need to get to the center of Macau Peninsula from the harbor. So, I tried to look for some information about which bus I had to take. After asking here and there (believe me, it was very hard to ask for some information because people at Macau can't speak english), I finally took a bus, provided by Venetian hotel and resorts (which is free), to Macau Peninsula. After 40 minutes of bus-trip, I got off near the Rua de Felicidade. At first, I didn't know if I was in the right place or not, because the place was not like the picture i have seen online. Then, I bravely asked couple of mothers who were waiting for their kids at local school. Lucky, I met a nanny from my country, Indonesia. But still, she didn't know the address of the hostel I booked. So i went again and decided to asked someone. I met an old man there and I asked about the hostel, even though he didn't know english, he understood and led me right away to the hostel.
After hours of nap, I went around the street around the hostel. I remember that along those street, there were a lot of people who slell portuguese egg tarts and it was very very very delicious! I could eat 3-4 pieces at once! Then, I went to Senado Square, to see the ruins of St. Paul. It was magnificent! The facade was so huge and it is 400years old but still standing magnificently like that is really awesome. I like to see ancient buildings because they make me think about their lives years ago and the beauty from the buildings themselves are just un-describe-able.
After a couple hours taking picture there, I decided to came back to the hostel because it was night aready. But I only have 2 days 1 night trip on Macao because the next day I had to continue my trip to Singapore. I really want to visit the vetenian in Macau, because i heard that it make you feel like you were like in Italy but i didn't get the chance to. So yeah, If I get the chance. I will be back to Macau.
