My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Monday, December 17, 2012 | 5 photos

As a conservationist my work brings me into contact with a number of unusual plants and animals in an array of beautiful and untouched places. I have always had a passion for documenting where I have been and what I have seen and always strive to obtain pictures that really show the beauty of these locations and animals. Whether it’s a holiday, a work trip, or a visit to the park I have my camera with my snapping away at everything. I have a genuine interest for addressing conservation issues in this way as it is by seeing the things we want preserved that really gets the attention of the public. Wildlife photography and displaying the unique environments of the world is a way of doing this. I have a skill for getting the best shots, and hopefully for utilizing the equipment in the correct ways to make my photographs the best too. Showing people how nice a desert sunset can be, or how uniquely coloured a coral snake is could mean the difference between keeping them here, or not. The opportunity to develop my skills with this scholarship program could assist me enormously in moving this from a dream to a practical and realistic aim for a career that I see as extremely important.
