This old man stood in front of me when we all waited for the walking light. Strangely enough, even when the light turned green, and then red again, he still stood there. And strangely enough, my eyes are really sensitive to anything in yellow. He reminded me of Amelie Poulain's father. So I came and talked to him. “Sorry Mademoiselle, I am just sleepy. It is Monday, you know”- he laughed.

It was Monday so the beach was not very busy. The laid back and relaxing atmosphere was all over the air. Very French. Nice is so famous for its tricky pebble beaches, but it seemed not to be a problem with this girl. When I first saw her, I talked to myself “Nice, la Belle”.

I met this man walking along the beach in a ragged pair of pants, carefully picking the pebbles and putting them into his plastic bag. He looked like the homeless people I saw sleeping near the train station, but his face was really calm and quiet. He said “Bonjour” and something else to me in French, but unfortunately, my French was just as bad as his English. He gave me a round pebble, and continued walking.

Where do they all come from?”
I just can’t help myself but whispering this song.
