My Scholarship entry - The Crossings of Guangzhou
China | Sunday, January 13, 2013 | 5 photos
Hi! I’m Michael.
I'm a freelance product designer living in Holland. Photography is a hobby of mine, which is well combined with my other hobby, which is travelling. I always carry my camera anywhere I go, even to work. I started with a bridge camera then I learned backwards using analog camera's before I got a digital system camera. I recently acquired Pentax Q, which is great fun since it fits in my pocket.
For me taking photographs works magically. Since I feel like I am not so good with words. But through the pictures I made I could bridge a gap. Sharing feeling and emotion or sometimes ideas through a picture.
I would love to see the world. I would love to share the world. The world I see, the details I see, and the emotion I feel. That is why I am very interested to take part of this scholarship.
Why I should be chosen is not only because of my passion, but because I have a different perspective, curiosity, and creativity. The details I see and the story I tell. I do have my shortcomings with words and some skills I wanted to practice, which is why I am looking forward to learn even more. To push myself and extends the boundary every time. I think Oman would be the perfect opportunity for me to do that.
cheers,
Michael
