The Smiles of Thailand

Onward to Bangkok

AUSTRALIA | Thursday, 28 January 2010 | Views [40]

Took a flight with Thai Airways and it was just over an hour. Upon arriving in Bangkok the feeling of their airport is overwhelming because of its sheer size, a glass city for sure. The structure of the building is something out of the "Jetsons".

The pollution is present and I am not looking forward to going outside so much safer inside.

Taxi to Shanti, a vegetarian backpacker hostel and reasonably priced 500 Baht which is about $25 AUS for 2 people 1 night shared toilet but own shower. The Shanti is open entrance no doors decorated with colourful fresh flowers and plants to create a homely atmosphere. Lights dim and vanila aroma's really happy to be in comfortable surroundings.

Met a Canadian working and living in Bali he was so relaxed and happy about life and has always worked for himself. My sister and I ordered a Passionfruit shake it was sweet, explosive and I believe you one could live off them alone.

I wanted to visit the Grand Palace but as we were only there for one day we decided to take a river boat to check out the city.

Bangkok was an experience I am looking forward to a far away Island sea air, and the clearest aqua waters.
