Hugs with clouds

GERMANY | Wednesday, 14 May 2014 | Views [139] | Scholarship Entry

In February I decided that I have never been above the clouds. Do not touch them, do not feel. I went to Germany. My goal was the peak of the Zugspitze. Leaving Munich, I was full of expectations to finally see the Alps. I was traveling by train and all peered into the distance, checking the map, exactly where I was and what I will see now. Mountains began to appear gradually away. They looked like ancient guardians of borders, the division of Germany and Austria. Lovely views of the majestic, full of freedom and harmony. At such moments, it seems that you are the hero of the novel, and your train will long go of all this grandeur.
I knew ahead of me waiting for a new discovery. Heart beat and I had no strength to calm down.
After some time the train arrived at the station GarmischPatenkirchen . Two villages - Garmisch and Partenkirchen located on opposite sides of the railway, in the last century have combined, so there was a settlement with such a long name. Yet it went down in history as a venue for the 1936 Olympics in Germany.
I hurried over to the cashier to purchase tickets for the funicular. It took about an hour, but trust me, it's unforgettable. When funicular lifts you from the station, you float above the pine trees to the glacier and feel at least a super hero.
And now you're on top. Temperature difference is 20 degrees. But frozen fingers do not stop you, you go to the site and can not believe you're see this: snowy peaks in the distance, clouds that cover you, hug. One gets the feeling that they protect you. You're trying to touch, to feel, but nothing. Neither cold nor heat - nothing. This fog is fast running out due to the wind and you will again admire expanses of the Alps.
I would like to stay here for longer, but the sun is already starting to sit down and takes me to the last cable car. Goodbye, beautiful Zugspitze. I will come to see you again.
